Job’s Daughters International

15th Annual Grand Session Message

Congressman Jerry P. Treñas

I wish to extend my warmest welcome to all of the delegates gathered today for the 15th Annual Grand Session of Job’s Daughters International (JDI). I understand that the JDI is the only organization in the world for girls which requires its members to be daughters of Master Masons. Your organization has made its mark through its rich heritage and tradition, actively promoting service and friendship for over 90 years since it was founded in Omaha, Nebraska in 1920.

The common bond of the ladies of your organization is solidified by the fact that you are all a part of the Masonic heritage. Legacies of Master Masons from the Philippines, Australia, Canada, Brazil and the United States are passed on to their daughters through the inspired work of the JDI. Through the dedication and service of your members, your organization successfully holds charitable work and community service, allowing your members to share their skills by giving back to their respective communities.

The activities of the JDI also allow your members to develop their skills in leadership, communication and organization. The JDI therefore maximizes the true potential of your members, empowering our daughters by giving them the chance to plan, prepare and execute their own projects and initiatives.  Your organization also gives your members a chance to interact with your peers from other countries and cultures.

It is with great pride that I commend the young ladies of the JDI for actively pursuing their common goals. Your deeds in activities will serve you well, training you at an early age to develop important skills which you will need in the future. However, I am especially pleased that you are channeling your efforts to aid our less-fortunate brethren. The charitable works of JDI reflect well on its members, proving that you are very dedicated to your ideals and shared values.

Thank you very much for your active participation in the JDI. May you continue to inspire other women through your excellent work.
