Oath Taking Message
By Congressman Jerry P. Treñas
Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, members of the medical profession, it is with great honor that I welcome you to Iloilo City for the 19th Midyear Convention of the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP). Allow me to thank all of the participants for attending the PAFP Convention in Iloilo City. I believe that most of you hail from different parts of the archipelago. Iloilo City is delighted to host the brilliant and well-respected family physicians of the PAFP.
Filipino families are highly dependent on the medical care and treatment of family physicians. The members of the PAFP play an important and indispensable role in the lives of every Filipino family. In fact, it can be said that a physician is a part of the family which the medical specialist serves. We repose our trust and utmost confidence in our family physicians because of the exceptional skill, talent and unquestionable dedication of Filipino family doctors.
However, it is necessary for members of your prestigious medical organization to engage in continuing medical education in order to maintain the level of excellence expected from family physicians. The plenary sessions and symposia of your convention will definitely help your members incorporate the latest advances in your profession, enabling your doctors to treat their patients with better skill and knowledge. This convention is also an excellent forum to discuss the pressing issues confronting family physicians today. In addition, the conference will allow your members to build a stronger organization by establishing better rapport and cooperation among the thousands of physicians under the PAFP banner.
I am confident that the lives and health of our citizens are in safe hands, as the PAFP is composed of the most professional and proficient members of the medical profession. Thank you very much for your unwavering commitment to serve our countrymen through your expert medical care.
