Treñas grants livelihood assistance from PDAF

 

livelihoodA total of 520 beneficiaries coming from 11 associations all over Iloilo City benefited from the livelihood assistance of Congressman Jerry P. Treñas, under the Self-Employment Assistance-Kaunlaran (SEA-K) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Cong. Treñas, Mrs. Rosalie S. Treñas, Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog, Vice- Mayor Jose Espinosa III, Liga President Roberto “Bobby” E. Divinagracia and DSWD Region-6 regional director Minda Brigoli led the distribution of P5,000 worth of SEA-K Livelihood Capital Assistance to each recipient at the congressional office in August.

The fund was taken from the Priority Development Assistance Fund of Congressman Treñas.

The recipient SEA-K Associations are Amethyst, Silver, Moonstone and Topaz in La Paz district; Opal and Turquoise in Lapuz district; Sun Stone and Amber in Molo district; Garnet and Gasper in Arevalo district; and Rose in City Proper district.

The SEA-K is DSWD’s micro-finance strategy program for small-scale entrepreneurs which do not have the necessary capital to jump-start their small business endeavors. The SEA-K capital is granted with no collateral necessary; it’s interestfree and payable within one or two years.

Prior to this, beneficiaries trained in food and fish vending, and sari-sari store operation.

Cong. Treñas plans to fund more SEA-K projects to benefit more Ilonggos.
