Working Together to Empower the People of Iloilo

 

empowerThe husband and wife tandem of Iloilo City Congressman Jerry P. Treñas and Rosalie Sarabia-Treñas engage in community service programs and support the various initiatives of civic organizations aimed to empower the people of Iloilo City.

Mrs. Treñas has established a livelihood assistance project for the Blue Angels Association, a civic organization that she chairs.

The CSFI, an organization of Spouses of the members of the House of Representatives formed to complement the legislative initiatives of lawmakers thru different socio-civic programs.

In Iloilo City the CSFI gave assistance to68 families of Brgy.Balabago, Jaro in the form of gardening and nursery materials with the active participation of Brgy.Capt. Edgar Arañador, Brgy Balabago Officials, Rising Sun Association Inc, World Vision Philippines, Department of Environment and Natural Resources and Blue Angels Association.
The Blue Angels Association, in close coordination with the Office of Congressman Treñas, implemented several community projects for Iloilo City residents.

One of these projects is the Busog- Lusog Feeding Project which has so far fed a total of 5,000 children aged two to six years old.

The association successfully implemented the Balik-Eskwela Haircutting Outreach Project, which benefited 443 schoolboys. The project, which promoted good grooming and personal hygiene, allowed the indigent youthofIloiloCitytoreceivefreehaircuts.

Uswag Operation Tuli was also initiated by the Blue Angels. The project provided free circumcisions to 200 Iloilo City boys aged 7 to 12 years old.

Both the haircutting and circumcision projects were implemented in partnership with the Philippine Army 32nd CRU 3rd CRG CRS AFP under Major Rolly B. Figueroa and the Office of Congressman Treñas.
